My name is Brett Hodinka, and I'm an evolutionary biologist with a particular interest in understanding the physiological mechanisms that underpin the remarkable variation in life-history traits that we observe in nature every day. I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology from The University of Alabama in 2015 and Western Kentucky University in 2019, respectively. In 2024, I earned my doctoral degree in biology at Simon Fraser University in British Columbia under the advisory of Dr. Tony Williams.

As of August 2025, I have started working as a postdoctoral researcher at Western Washington University in Chris Templeton's lab studying the effects of anthropogenic noise on avian cognition. As I begin experiments and data collection in the Fall 2025 term, I will post updates under the 'Research' tab, so stay tuned!
